#Lean Limerick Contest

So KaiNexus is doing a Lean Haiku contest or something.

I prefer limericks.

Here is my first:
There once was a nurse from Nantucket
Was jumping through hoops, and said “F--- it”
She put her idea
in suggestion box
But her leaders were a bunch of… top down command-and-control managers who didn’t listen to their employees, which was further demoralizing and exacerbated the existing quality and patient safety problems, not to mention the cost crisis, but now I'm rambling...
Tweet at me with your #LeanLimerick and use that hashtag thingy. I might award a prize... but I'd hate to destroy your intrinsic motivation.

My Comedy Audition Video

Here is my famous audition video featuring my Lean comedy. I am working on new jokes, so hopefully I can be an opening act at the 2014 Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit!

Here is a blog post that Mark Graban wrote about my video.

Some of my jokes:

How many Lean thinkers does it take to change a lightbulb? I’m not really sure, but they are all very concerned about how to engage the CEO in the hospital’s lighting fixture transformation efforts.

Knock knock. Who’s there? Shame on you… you should really be asking “why?” five times, not asking “who?” Enough shame and blame… come on, you know better than that.

Why did the Lean chicken cross the road? It’s not really sure because, you know, this is a journey.

So what’s the deal with hospital food? I mean really? Who is the genius who designed that value stream? Can I get some patient focus up in here?

I’m lucky… as a Lean comedian, if my jokes bomb, it’s not a failure, it’s an opportunity for continuous improvement.

Why did the chicken cross the road? Wait a minute, don’t you go jumping to countermeasures. Do you understand the chicken’s current state well enough? I mean, stay on the left hand side of the A3 with me, people.

Thank you everyone. My goal is to provide value to you.
